The Original Mixer that Started Major Products Is Still On Display Outside Mr. DeRose's Office To This Day.

Major Products Company is a leading manufacturer of Stock Bases throughout the world. The company was founded in 1951 by Mr. Daniel DeRose, Jr., who decided to manufacturer soup bases after spending many years peddling apple cider vinegar to area restaurants. With the help of his father, they built a small mixer (pictured left) and began mixing soup bases in the garage of their Newark, NJ dwelling. Word spread about Major's soup bases and before long, they upgraded to larger equipment and moved into a much larger warehouse in their neighborhood.

In 1963, Major Products moved out of their Newark location and relocated to Little Ferry, where their corporate offices and manufacturing are still housed. Manufacturing has expanded to include New Jersey, Nevada, Illinois, Canada, and England, allowing them to meet the demands of customers throughout the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, Europe, and Asia. Major Products, in joint venture with Danisco of Copenhagen, Denmark, created Major International, which serves the European market. With our U.S. facilities coast to coast and in Canada, Major has acquired a worldwide reputation that is unparalleled.
